Who we serve / Robots

Robots are shipping faster than anyone is learning to service them.

What is happening

Our view

Every robot team we talk to says some version of the same thing: the product moves faster than the manual. A new revision ships, a customer gets their own variant, the instructions get translated, and now there are a dozen documents to keep true by hand.

A robot company's first hundred units are serviced by the engineers who designed them. The next ten thousand cannot be. We think service will decide which robot companies survive scale: a fleet that needs its designers on site does not scale, and a fleet any trained technician can keep running does.

The repair and rework steps are the least written down of all. They live in the heads of the two or three technicians who have done them. And not every fault is mechanical: sensors and software cause their share, so assembly instructions alone are not the whole answer, and we do not pretend they are.

Robots are the hardest case for procedures, with dense assemblies, cable routing and actuators buried three layers down. That is why we build on robots first. If the knowledge layer holds up here, it holds up anywhere.

Where Machinebase fits

  • Assembly and service procedures drafted from the robot's CAD, joint by joint.
  • The order parts go on and come off worked out from the geometry, so a step that cannot physically be done is caught before a technician finds it.
  • The same procedure for your build line and for the technician in the field.
